I am a multimedia artist with foundations in painting and experimental film. Life unfolds forward, and I am constantly working backward in my process. The subjects and events in my work are always something I have perceived firsthand. Creating reflections that are not inherently concerned with how something looks, but how it feels and its function. To be confrontationally authentic.

Skateboarding itself is the medium between my life and my artistic practice. The experience of using my body to interact with an environment is how I first started to generate a lot of the attitudes and ideas that inform my practice. There is beauty in spatial freedom. My work has been about capturing moments of spatial freedom.

I've always been focused on themes of authenticity. My experimental documentary body of work is the most natural avenue for expressing authenticity. Super 8 forces me to be more intimate with the film. The process requires that I slow down the way I work, spending a significant amount of time and consideration on every aspect of the piece. This practice has expanded into an even more experimental way of treating film by using paint and found objects.

In my practice, I often try to embrace external limitations (ie: economic, time) and make that a central part of any given piece. I use recycled materials because it makes sense. I try to take advantage of materials that are often seen as worthless. Looking for objects that inspire me to create is in a lot of ways, a huge part of my creative process.
